Who knew Peter Pan and Tinkerbell had a thing for one another?

If you want to design your wedding day around a special theme, kudos to you! We admire couples who don't always stick to the rules; here are a few of our favorite cartoon wedding day themes that we bet the bride, groom and guests had a blast playing dress up for on the big day!

Shrek: These Shrek enthusiasts went to the extreme to replicate the DreamWorks creation on their wedding day. The English couple, who married in 2009, dressed up as the movie's main characters, Shrek and Fiona. Their wedding day attire included an ogre costume (fur vest included), princess dress and green face paint. Oh, and don't forget the ogre ears – the couple also rocked those as they said their "I dos."  The best part of the whole wedding theme? The couples last name is Green – very fitting don't you think?

Peter Pan: Some people never want to grow up, and so was the case for this couple. The Peter Pan fairy tale wedding was held outdoors in a forest setting – how fitting – with the lost boys and various other fairy tale characters in attendance. The bride wore a Tinker Bell costume with wings and her groom came down the aisle in  a green cap, shirt and tights. An image of the couple's wedding invitation definitely set the stage for guests thanks to pretty butterfly and leaf artwork. The font detailing the time, date and location for the nuptials looks like it came straight from the Disney vault.

The Flintstones: Were you ever curious as to what Fred and Wilma's wedding looked like? You don't have to wonder anymore! This Flintstone themed wedding was staged to the nines for the couple. The groom wore a bright orange caveman styled costume and a black wig. Wilma, aka the bride, spruced up the standard white dress seen on the cartoon episodes with a zebra printed hemline and black and white shoes. A bright orange wig and large white stone necklace completed Mrs. Flintstones' attire. And yes, Barney and Betty were in attendance – the couple stood up as the best man and maid of honor. To make the atmosphere as authentic as possible,  the couple got married on stage at the Landmark Theatre, which was designed to look like a cave!
